ELSAH, IL- The Dickinson State University Men's Cross Country team finished 31st of 37 teams at the NAIA National Cross Country Meet on Saturday, November 19th while the Women finished 29th out of 36 teams.

Christopher Moreno led the Blue Hawks with a 114th place finish with a time of 26:05.90, Tristen Guillot finished 173rd with a time of 26:28.70, Ernest Franssen III finished 255th with a time of 27:11.50 and Daniel Aguirre finished 258th with a time of 27:15.6.

Trey Smollack finished 285th with a time of 27:56.60, Jonathan Aman finished 302nd with a time of 28:36.10 and Richard Timmermans finished 312th with a time of 29:09.00.

Christopher set yet another PR in as many races this season for the Blue Hawks. Trey broke the 28:00 barrier for the first time and was our #5 runner, also a first for him. Tristen had a 41 second improvement today from his time at nationals in 2015.

"Our men's total team time and top 5 average time this year was just 37 seconds and seven seconds slower (respectively) than what we did at the national meet in 2015, hence our very similar overall team place/finish," stated DSU Head Cc Coach Ben Shroyer. "I am pleased with our men's performance today as we had so many new guys on the team this fall and many who had to step-up and get familiar with racing an 8k. A job well done for the men in 2016!"


Ashly Kraenzel led the Blue Hawks with a 145th place finish with a time of 19:10.32, Amanda Wolff finished 191st with a time of 19:27.00, Cristina Herrera finished 222nd with a time of 19:43.41, Brittney Grove finished 264th with a time of 20:03.96 and Lisa Townsend finished 269th with a time of 20:06.79.

The Blue Hawks finished with a five place improvement from thier finish at Nationals in 2015. Lisa set a new PR today, Cristina tied her PR today and Ashly had a season PR today. Brittney improved by 34 seconds from her time at nationals in 2015, Amanda had a 1:14 national race time improvement, and Cristina experienced a 57 second national race improvement.

"Today we had all five girls finish before our top two girls finished in 2015," stated DSU Head CC Coach Ben Shroyer. "Our goal today, was five girls under 20:00. Our total team time this year at nationals improved by 3:37 and our team average dropped 43 seconds. Kiddos to the women on their race today and what they have accomplished this season."
